Those who refused to testify or name colleagues \u2014 including a group of writers and directors known as the Hollywood Ten \u2014 were jailed for contempt and blacklisted from working under their own names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"careers-destroyed-some-quietly-rebuilt\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Careers Destroyed, Some Quietly Rebuilt<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Blacklisted writers often kept working in secret, using pseudonyms or fronts to sell scripts.
